Basic Receiving in Different Angles

Goal: This soccer dribbling drill focuses on developing
passing and dribbling skills. This soccer drill also
emphasises receiving skills and orientation.
U10-U12, U13-U15, U16+

Organisation
Cones are used to mark a square. The size of the area must be adequate to the age
group. At each cone there are 3-5 players. Task is performed with two balls. Players
change their positions diagonally following their passes. Task is performed to both
directions.

Soccer Drill 1: The soccer exercise is performed with two balls. Players hold a ball
next to each other in the group of A1 and A2. Players opposite the players with balls
approach towards and ask for the ball. They move towards the middle, receive the ball
and turn to the other direction. After a few steps dribbling they pass the ball to the
nextcoming player in the group. Progression continues to the other direction in the
same way.

Soccer Drill 2: The Exercise is the same but players receive the ball in the middle
squarely and dribble towards their own group.

Accuracy of passing is imperative

Correct body position when receiving the ball

Vary the technique of the receivings

Use both feet to touch the ball while dribbling
