4) Activities
Lesson conclusion Exit card
Lesson introduction (10 mins): (Court setup + Last lesson recap + skill practice + stretching)
Activity 1 warm up + stretching + last lesson recap (5mins) (11.40 11.45)
Dig and Setting practice
Activity 2 Skills Testing (40 mins) (11.45 12.25)
In your teams complete each of the tests stated and mark your scores. The 4 th team will be
completing their pre-assessment when not on court performing a task. Students are to answer the
questions provided regarding aspects of Volleyball game play. This will provide me with an
understanding the level of experience each student has which will allow me to differentiate by
readiness when placing students in group activities for future lessons. Create teams based on
experience, for SEPEP unit to follow.
Activity 3 spikeology space invasion game (10 mins) (12.25 12.35)
Tactical Focus: space identification and utilisation to win the point

Setup: 2 v 2 (create pairs from constructed teams)

Environmental constraint: half court
Task constraint (1): The whole court is in (remembering only half court playing dimensions)
Task constraint (2): You are only allowed to set or catch and throw the ball over the net
Task constraint (3): Win a point if you can land the ball in your opponents court
Task constraint (4): You are not allowed to walk or run with the ball (specifically when catching and
throwing)
Task constraint (5): Start the game with an underarm toss from the baseline
Task constraint (6): every 2nd time you play the ball over the net you must use the set regardless of
your court positioning
Task constraint (7): if you win the point you stay on as king and if you loose you move off and the nex
challenger plays

Activity 4 3 v 3 small sided game (20mins) (12.35 12.55)

Tactical Focus: space identification, correct form of the set skill
Setup: 3 v 3 students are to choose groups

(setter and spiker) front court
Task Constraint (5): Must use the sequence: catch pass to setter set or catch and throw to
spiker
