Lesson Summary:
Students will display their understanding of Custers Last Stand by creating a news article from
the perspective of both the Indians and a soldier in Custers army. Students will do their first
draft in class and will create a final typed draft at home.
Integration of Technology:
Shows that the kids can use a word processor and understanding how to use the classroom
website to receive the template.

Grade Level: 6th-8th Grade
Subject: Physical Fitness
Curriculum Goal: Goal 4.1: Achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitnesss.
Learning Objectives: Apply basic principles and types of training to improve fitness goals (e.g.,
frequency, intensity, progression, specificity, overload, regularity, interval training, fartlek, circuit
training, resistance training, etc.).

Lesson Summary:
Students will make a fitness goal for the following exercises; mile run time, push-ups, sit-ups.
Over the course of a two week period students will document daily exercise times and will
compute in excel the increase or decrease over the two week period. Then students will create a
chart displaying the change.
Integration of Technology:
This lesson will help students learn the basics of excel and chart making.

Lesson Summary:
Students will create a power point presentation illustrating the three branches of the federal
government and the checks and balances that exist between them. Students will be evaluated on
the relevance of their information and the overall skill of the presentation they create.
Integration of Technology:
Students will learn the in and out of power point while also increasing their knowledge of
basic Internet skills in a creative manner.
