o Who knows the capital of Australia?
o How many states are there? Name them.
o How many territories? Name it.
o What are the capitals of the states and territory?

What is a manmade landmark?


What are the major landmarks in Australia?

Go over the assessment that is required for the unit LM is


required to place learners in groups and assigned an Australian
Landmark to create a webpage, emphasising its attraction to
tourists
LM will discuss with learners what is required of their task:
o they must state the name of the state or territory, and
capital city
o what is the landmark
o where it is located
o facts about the area and the landmark
Go over previous lesson and webpage created by LM and
learners on the Great Barrier Reef
LM will show learners where Weebly is located, log in details and
the Weebly template/outline to use (appendix 5)
Learners given opportunity to work on computers to research
more into their webpage collecting information and completing
webpage template (appendix 5) to be completed over 2-3
lessonss
After learners have completed their 1 Weebly page on their
landmark, LM is to piece the webpage together and publish it as
a completed class webpage ready to present to the whole class
on how it would help promote tourism in Australia
LM to then open up completed Weebly webpage on IWB calling
up student groups when it comes up to their page to present
their information to the whole class on their chosen Australian
Landmark
Learners are able to write a speech, read straight off their
webpage or just have a general discussion with the class
explaining their webpage and landmark and how it will help
promote tourism in Australia
