Dear Parents
What a term! The most exciting aspect to this term was seeing one of our biggest
dreams become a reality: the building and completion of our Astro! Once more
proving if you can dream it you can achieve it! It was also a term filled with culture
and service activities with an equally strong emphasis on our academics. Reports
have been sent home and we are ready for Prize-giving, where we will acknowledge
all our learners remarkable achievements for 2015. While the academic year draws
to a close, all that remains is for the girls to write their Final Examinations, which
begin on 23rd October.

COMPULSORY REGISTRATION FOR 2016

As you are aware all girls must re-register for school and hostel at the start of every
academic year. A slightly different procedure will be followed for 2016. We are
going paperless!
You will be receiving the registration form via email. Regardless of whether your
daughter is returning to Girls High next year or not, every present learner must
complete the registration form online where the option for re-registration or
cancellation of registration may be selected.
Please note that the re-registration / cancellation for 2016 is due by 16 October 2015.
In order to guarantee your daughters place in the school and bed in the hostel,
parents are requested to ensure that they follow the easy registration process online.
This eliminates the stressful procedure of completing countless forms with the same
information over and over.

The Prize Giving starts promptly at 17:30. Please no

late comers. Our Prize Giving is the highlight of our
year. This is also a formal function and we do not
condone any shouting, whistling or any other form of
applauding other than the clapping of hands. Parents
may take their own daughters home after the function.

School and hostel budgets for 2016 will be presented to

parents by the SGB Finance Committee on the day on which
boarders return for the fourth term.
All parents are asked to be in the Pavilion at 16:00. Please
attend the meeting which is scheduled for your convenience
on a day that you will already be in Potchefstroom. This is
your opportunity to raise your concerns to the Governing
Body. It is imperative that all day girl and boarder parents
attend this meeting. The detailed budget will be available
for your perusal from 29 September at the finance office of
the school during working hours. The finance office will be
open on Friday 10 October between 12:00-13:00 for any
questions regarding your account.

The route to the Sanlam Auditorium is as follows:

Heading in a northerly direction from the school, drive
straight down Beyers Naude Street which becomes
Hoffmann Street towards the university. Enter the NW
University gates and the Sanlam Auditorium will be on
your left hand side.
After the function all parents, LEC members and grade
11 & 12 prize winners are invited to tea & refreshments
in the School Hall. All the other learners and children
will be catered for outside the hall and at the hostels.

Donations Pavilion Bricks

Monthly Instalments for Boarding

Fees 2016

Any parent wishing to make a donation to the school

can also do so by buying a brick. I would like to
encourage parents to make a donation, especially the
grade 12s & other girls leaving the school.

Do you struggle to pay boarding fees at the start of

every term? Here is a plan: did you know that you can
pay monthly instalments in advance for 2016? The
annual hostel fees for 2016 is R47 700-00.

The minimum cost of a brick is R700-00. However we

are always willing to accept bigger donations than this.
A special wall in the Pavilion has been set aside for this
purpose. Please complete the reply slip if you are
interested. All donations can be made directly to the
finance office for the attention of Mrs Jacobsz.

Please see payment schedule for monthly instalments

in the next column.
