Japanese Standard JIS G3351 describes XG type sind XS expanded

XG type product with the prefix of J (6g, XG12, XG13 eto.) are with hexagonal shaped meshes;
‘where those with the prefix of 2 (og. XG2i, XG24 ete.) are with thombus ehape meshes. For
simplicity, we take products with the prefix of 2 for experimental and arithmetical works to
arive at genctalfoading tables to belp the engineers in their designs,
‘The experiment was done by having a load with 250mm diameter applied at the muid-span of the
‘expatided metal The application range of & product relates to the floxture comfort and 3mm
deflection is usually regarded 2s the comfort limit whereas Smm deflection is regarded as the
acceptable limit, However, deflection more than Sn will not cause the system to fail.
Fall gues a noch greater oad and deflection at which pont th produc’ elastic limi is
Ina satisfactory case of application, the removal of the applied load will cause the deflectian to
totum to it original zero-deflection position,

REMARKS:
1) Load capacities given in the table are heaviest loads that wil cause no permanent deformation with
ssifety factor of 1.4 times. if some permanent deformation is allowed, loads can be increased by 40%.
2) The load table is epplicable based on spanning in LWWM direction and spatweld at every 4th strand on
‘support and minimum 26mm landing on both ends.
3) Polnt ioads are assumed to be applied to a 100mm diemeter area at mid-span.
44) Spanning recommended based on assumption that deflection Is not greater then span /200.
'5) Spanning stated in table ere nominal spans (NS). Clear spans (C8) are obtalned by deducting the total
landing distance on the supports. a
