AVID: Advancement Via Individual Determination
Application for 2015 - 2016
Process
Please complete the attached application and have two teachers complete and
return the recommendation forms. All documents must be turned into
the Counselors Office by April 29th, 2016
.
Selection Criteria
While AVID strategies are good for all students. The AVID program is designed
to fit a targeted population of students. The AVID Site-Team will use a scoring
rubric for placement into the AVID program.
Timeline
Students who fit the district profile are encouraged to fill out an application for AVID
April 29th,- Completed applications with two teacher recommendations and a copy of
students last report card are due (to be turned in to your Counselors Office).
April/May-Incoming 5th graders and new applicants who meet the AVID criteria will be
interviewed by AVID Site Team members
Students and parents will be notified of selection.
