Competency 5

Develop Activity Plans that Promote Child Development and Learning

When developing activity plans we need to make sure they have a purpose. Activity plans are
developed to promote learning experiences. Using our own observations is the best way to
develop activity plans. Observations help us decide which developmental areas we need to spend
more time on. Therefore when creating activity plans we can make sure they are promoting
learning for the group of children they are intended for. Some activity plan can be for everyone
others can involve small group activities for certain children. Using Wisconsin early learning
models is a great help when developing the activity plans.
