Cumulative Reflection:

My four years at Iowa State University started with a hard semester where I had to
take physics 221 and calculus 2 at the same time. I had come from a different
education system where there was no homework, quizzes and all the exams were
held at the end of the year over the time period of a month and the way you studied
for that was take it was for the first few months and then work really hard in the last
few months. It took a little time to get used to the system that was being used at
Iowa State University, but eventually I did get used to it. My second semester
involved 18 credits and despite the fact that it was three more credits more than my
previous semester, I found it to be easier than my first semester because I was
already familiar with the king of semester that I had to do. My second and third year
were not as hard for me as my first year and my first semester in particular. One of
the main things that I did differently when I started this program was to make my
first semester a relatively easy one.
At Iowa State University I have been able to design complex systems which in my
case would be circuits since I am trying to focus in the area of semiconductors and
electronics. There are classes at Iowa State University that helped me in learning
how electronics, semiconductors and integrated circuits are designed are designed.
There are also classes that teach us how to finance projects and make sure that a
certain product is going to be profitable. The classes that we have to take also have
an emphasis on learning throughout our lives to keep up with the changes in
technology. There is also an important focus on issues that the industry which is
related to the field of the class that we are taking. One such example would be that
in the semiconductor industry Moores law is starting to break.
There are a lot of classes where you have to work in groups in order to get
something done right. The first class where we had group projects for me was EE
230 which is the second circuits design class. In this class we had to work in groups
of two to work on three different projects throughout the semester. The second such
class where we had to work I groups was CprE 281 which is a digital logic class,
where the final project is supposed to be done in a group. The next class where we
had to work in a group to do some kind of a project was CprE 288 which was an
embedded systems class where we had a final project where we had to program a
robot to go through a maze. The last one is obviously our senior design class where
we have to work across two semesters designing a project for a company. The
company that we are working for is having us design a test system to check if an
antenna is sending a signal properly and if it is not, we also need to find out what
the error is.
