MY PHILOSOPHY IN TEACHING
My philosophy of educational development (ED) starts
with a belief that change and inspiration happens through
conversation, the kind of conversations that bring people
closer to the heart of a shared concern, give them new eyes
to see both the problems and possibilities, and set the stage
for taking creative action (Palmer et al., 2010, p. 21).

believe that educational developers possess the

extraordinary capacity, and facilitative leadership skills
necessary to bring people together to engage in authentic,
meaningful and productive conversations about enhancing
teaching and learning in higher education.
Mrtensson (2009) attest,

As Rox and

communication is the driving

force for development

Through my educational development, management,
leadership, and teaching experiences, I have also become
grounded in a fundamental commitment that, Its not about
me, its about them. Simple though this may sound, this is a
belief that drives my daily practice.

Within my role as

educational developer and manager, I have quickly come to

understand that transformation happens through building
capacity in others. I have been committed to ensuring
sustained faculty engagement in curriculum development
processes. From developing learning outcomes, to analyzing
and interpreting curriculum mapping data, I strive to
maintain collaborative, collegial and solution-focussed
decision-making processes that help to close the assessment
loop.

History of Palahanan National High School

Palahanan National High School is just like a small seed which have beeb
planted, nurtured, loved and deeply cherished. The golden seed sprouted, bear
its thin stem and tiny leaves as days passed by. It grows bigger, stronger and
harder and eventually it becomes a sturdy tree with its thick and growing
branches. That is how the school was established.
We started, sharing the building with the elementary school, with bare
facilities and the least number of enrolments. Everything began, with the
greatest desire of the founder to serve the youth and give them the best
education. He encouraged other nearby barangays to let their children go to
school.
With Mr. Celestino Marquez and Teodosio Samarita, the district
supervisor, working together, the dream of Palahanan community became a
reality.
It started with an enrolment of 75 first year high school students,
divided into two sections, with Miss. Paz Macalalad , Miss Patricia Manipol as
the pioneer teachers, with Mr. Marquez as the principal. Years passed by
growth and development existed, both in terms of academic excellence, the
teaching staff and physical facilities.
Many had become the school heads- Mrs. Canuel, Mr. Bruel, Mrs.
Gracia Saguin, Mrs. Eleanor E. Virtusio, Mr. Florencio P. Ilao and finally Mr.
Anacleto M. Gunio.
Today, with Mr. Anacleto M. Gunio as the school head, Palahanan NHS
could definitely stand on its own continuously leading towards greater
developments, growth and progress. It is considered to be one of the biggest
and one among the performing school all throughout the division of Batangas.

With the coming years, we are hoping that Palahanan National High School will
never cease growing, hoping to achieve greater hopes, dreams and aspirations
fot the total development of the youth and community.

When the year comes, Im a regular teacher in

experience all of the sadness and happiness that happened to
my life. An institution that produced a powerful individual that
can face the reality of what life has. I want to be a part of
them somedayand I will give the dream house of my parents
