Sample Task Design for the following Tasks:


a. Solar System
Objective: To be able to familiarize the eight planets
including their size and distance away from the sun.
Possible Tasks Design:

Divide the class into 8 groups and these groups are the
names of the 8 planets and each group are task to take
note everything about the planet which assign to them.
Allow the groups to visit a museum that has a
planetarium with a large dome- shaped projection
screen onto which scenes of stars, planets, sun and
other celestial objects can be made to appeared and
move realistically to simulate the complex motions of
the heavens or just a simple mock-up of a solar
system.
Let them take note the size of the planet, the distance
away from the sun, the color, the names of the near
planets and everything that relevant to their assign
topic.
After that, each group will going to present everything
they take note about the planet which assigned to
them.
At the end, all groups will create a mock-up of solar
system based on their observation in the planetarium.

b. Lunar System
Objective: To be able to identify the different phases of
the moon.
Possible Tasks Design:

Let the students expose to the museum where they can


see the different phases of the moon in the
planetarium.
Assign them to take note the different phases of the
moon and its shape.
Let them draw the phases of the moon given the
following names in sequential order.
After that, they are going to level each phase, the
average moonrise time and the average moonset time
and the mid-phase standard time based on their note.
Then, they are going to present or discuss the
drawings with brief explanation.

And, ask them what they have experience or observe in


actual when they look at the moon.
