University of Colorado tice oe Serer Vee Chancelor and Chit Franca cer soa asta Sree 1S eer Boulder sre prceonsy Br, Clade £09092080 October 20, 2015 Dear CU-Boulder Custodians, | am reaching out to let you know that | have heard your concerns. | want you to know that I and this campus’ administration are committed to paying fair wages. This summer, a proposal was brought forward regarding Housing and Dining Service custodial staff pay. The proposal, however, did not include pay for custodial staff in Facilities Management and other areas across campus. | am committed to ensuring that pay is equitable across the university, and since last summer, my staff, along with HR, have been reviewing salary market data to determine whether adjustments would be appropriate. The details of this process should have been better communicated over the summer to you. Moving forward, | commit that we will provide clear communications on this process, starting now. | have asked that we review our existing salaries for custodians, regardless of the department in which they work on campus. Our Chief Human Resources Officer, Vice Chancellor for Infrastructure and Safety, and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs will develop a joint proposal and plan for comprehensively addressing this salary issue. In the next 60 days that comprehensive analysis and recommendation for moving forward will be provided to me. This analysis will be shared with affected employees. Please keep in mind that once our course of action to make adjustments has been decided, we will need to review each individual's position and salary to evaluate proposed individual increases. | want to thank each of you for the important work you do every day. The campus is widely recognized as a beautiful location, with beautiful facilities. This recognition is due to your hard work and dedication. Sincergly, ‘elly Fox Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer
