    ARTIST STATEMENT

    I was in the gifted and talented program with the same 20 kids until 7th grade when we went our separate ways. I quickly
    started to feel alone because I didnt fit in with my friends cliques like cheerleading and athletics. And when youre young and
    feeling outcast, its easy to question yourself. Am I too annoying? Too nerdy? Too weird? Then I found theatre and learned that I
    love portraying someone Im not. I can be characters just like me, or unlike meor even nothing like me. I can be a Juliet or Velma
    Kelly without changing who I am. I can be me and fit right in, which makes me happy. Now, I am looking for a university whose
    theatre program will let me be myself and provide me with the skills to guide me on the path to a career in the performing arts.
