Those selected for this will be required fo assist in teaching/laboratories and other developmental work under the guidance of mentor. Part Time Students: Condidates working in organizations situated in close vicinity of university will be admitied under this category. Sponsored Students: Employees of Organizations /indusiries having collaborations with university will be admitted under his category Programme Structure: The Ph.D. programme is based on the research carried out by the student under the guidance of Supervisor/cosupervisorls) and the programme duration is dependent upon the completion of the chosenresearch by the student. The research work is characterized either by discovery of new facts or proposition of 0 new theory/theories or by fresh interpretation of known facts. It should beor evidence of the candidate's capacity for analysis and judgment as well as his/her ability to carry out independent vestigation, design or development All admitted students are provisionally registered in to the programme and are required to do a mandatory minimum course work of 12 credits. Upon successful completion of the course work, the student shall identify supervisor/cosupervisor(s) and in consultation prepare o detailed Research Proposol/Synopsys of the research s/he want to carry out. After the approval of the Synopsis and supervisor/cosupervisor(s), students are formally registered in to Ph.D. programme. This must normally be done within one year of admission. After formal registration, student proceeds with research and is required to submit his/her progress report ot the end of every semester and make a presentation to School Research Committee (SRC). The minimum period after which a student con submit the dissertation is two years from the date of formal registration and the maximum period allowed is 5 years. On completion of the research work, the student has to submit summary (synopsis) of the research work and make o presentation to SRC. Before submitting the dissertation, the student should publish ot leost wo popers from the research work in international refereed journals, The dissertation must be o piece of original work free from any plagiarism. The final dissertation is evaluated by examiners and student has to defend it Minimum qualification required for Ph.D. Admission 2015 is as follows: The candidote should hove postgraduate degree or its equivalent from a recognized university in respective discipline, with minimum 55% marks or minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale. Admission process: Shortlisted candidates will be colled for writen exominotion and interview. They will be required to pay a Registration-cum-Processing fee of 5000/ (Non Refundable}. Admission to Ph.D. Programme will be bosed on the overall performance in Post Graduate degree, Enirance Examination, Personal Interview, and facilities available. Preference will be given to CSIR/UGC- NET qualified candidates and those having sponsored projects. Written Entrance Examinati will broadly test the research aptitude and ability to comprehend. Candidates with NET, SLET, GATE, MPAT, M.Phil or equivalent qualification may be exempted from Entrance Examination. Personal Interview: Candidates who clear the written entrance examination will be selected for Personal Interview. The interview will be conducted by the Interview Board of the University to comprehensively judge in depth of knowledge in the concerned subject/area and ability to do research.
