Product Quality Planning (APQP) on Improvement of Engineering Performance
in the Implication of Quality Management System ISO/TS 16949:2002 (Case
Study on Automotive Manufacturing Company PT. Selamat Sempurna, Tbk).

The background of this research is derived from the needs of infrastructure

through a suitable standard implication with business process that becomes the
primary focus in improving an optimum performance of the company. Quality
becomes an important part that shall be owned by an automotive manufacturing
company.

The objective of this research is to identify whether there is any effect of

Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Implication of Quality
Management System ISO/TS 16949:2002 towards the Improvement of
Engineering Performance (Product Engineering, Process Engineering, and
Maintenance Engineering) in automotive manufacturing company PT. Selamat
Sempurna, Tbk.

The design of this research is to test the effect of Advanced Product Quality
Planning (APQP) and Implication of Quality Management System ISO/TS
16949:2002 towards the Improvement of Engineering Performance (Product
Engineering, Process Engineering, and Maintenance Engineering) in automotive
manufacturing company PT. Selamat Sempurna, Tbk.

Data analysis used in this research was gathered from the distribution of
questionnaire, where all variables in this research is measured and structured
into a likert scale module. The whole collected data is then analyzed by the
analysis of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).

The result of this research concludes that there are effects between Implication of
Quality Management SystemISO/TS 16949:2002 towards 4 (four) steps of
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), while only the second step of
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) that does not have any effect
towards the Implication of Quality Management System ISO/TS 16949:2002,
further, there are also effects between the Improvement of Engineering
Performance of PT Selamat Sempurna, Tbk with the Implication of Quality
Management System ISO/TS 16949:2002.
