ME 201: Syllabus

Fundamental concepts; Properties of gases and vapours; Laws of thermodynamics and their corollaries. Non-flow and flow processes; Ideal
gases and their cycles. Power cycles, refrigeration cycles and reciprocating compressors. Second law of thermodynamics: availability, irreversibility and entropy. Thermodynamic relations; Equations of state.
Mixtures of gases and vapours; Psychrometries; Real gases; Fuels and
combustion.
