for Students

Blooms
Taxonomy

Mathematics
1. Number Sense,
Properties, and
Operations

2. Patterns, Functions,
and Algebraic
Structures
3. Analysis, Statistics,
and Probability

ISTE
Standard: 4B
Example: I
would show a
30 second
segment of a
School House
Rock video of
number
sense and
ways to
remember
the
operations
and
properties.
By only using
30 seconds
of the video
you would be
following the
procedure for
fair use and
copyright.

Understanding.
Choosing
understanding it
would allow all
the different
types of
learners to
understand
what trying to
be explained in
a different way.

Constructivism

Student Use

Flipped
Classroom

4. Shape, Dimension,
and Geometric
Relationships

ISTE
Standards: 1C
Examples:
Students could
create models
using straws
and twist ties
and create
triangles to
see the
different types
of triangles
and the ways
they are
similar and
different.

Remembering
Students will
use the activity
to help them
remember what
the
characteristics
of a triangle
are, and what
makes them
different from
each other.

Reading, Writing, and Communicating

1. Oral Expression and
Listening

ISTE
Standard: 1C
Example:
Students will
not only read
the books in
reading
groups, but
we will also
listen to the
book as they
read it a
second time.
Following
this, they will
discuss the
book with
another
student.

Analyze
Students will be
able to analyze
the book once
they have read
and re-read the
book. This will
allow them to
understand
what each part
is saying and
how they may
have missed
things since
previously
reading it.

2. Reading for All

Purposes

ISTE Standard:

Understanding

2C

The students
will be able to
figure out
whether or not
they understand
what the
information is
saying and see
how different
cultures are
different from
the cultures
that we live in
today.

Example:
Students will
read a variety
of non-fiction
stories and
fairy tales
about people
in other
cultures. By
doing so they
will then be
able to see
how they
communicate
and live life.
They will do
research on it
and this will
help they
distinguish
between
reliable sites
and nonreliable sites.
3. Writing and
Composition
4. Research and
Reasoning
Social Studies
1. History

ISTE
Standards: 6D
Example:

Applying
Students will be
able to apply
the information

Students will
research how
technology
has
progressed up
to present day.
They will be
able to see the
periods in
which it
progressed
and see where
it is headed.

they have
learned to see
how technology
has changed
and how to
apply the new
technology into
our lives today.

2. Geography
3. Economics
4. Civics

ISTE
Standard: 5A
Example:
As a teacher
it is
important to
be a part of
the
community
you work in.
That being
said, as a
class you
could come
up with ways
that will help
your class
get involved.
Have the
students
brain storm

Creating
Students would
be able to
create a new
point of view
after helping
people in the
local
community.
They might see
people
immediately as
one way but as
they interact
with them they
may find there
is so much more
to them then
just people that
person.

ideas and
then figure
out a
community
locally to
become a
part of.
Science
1. Physical Science
2. Life Science

ISTE Standard:
2A
Example:
Students will
be able to go
out and watch
animal
behavior and
see how they
correlate
together. Then
they will
discuss with
other group
members to
see how the
environment
can grow and
change.

3. Earth Systems

Standard: 2A
Example:
Students
would use
the program
Stellarium to

Understanding
Students will be
able to gain a
better
understanding
of how animals
behave and
communicate
with each other.

Applying
Students will be
able to see the
world through
the eyes of the
computer
screen. It allows
them to be able

learn about
the moon
and the
stars. This
would allow
them to
create and
learn new
ways to see
the world in
a brighter
perspective.

to understand

that and be

Physical Disabilities

ISTE
Standard:
4B

Understanding
As someone
who has a
learning
disability, its
hard to
understand that
you can ask for
help and come
up with
strategies in
order to
understand how
things work
together and
how you can
learn.

students and

Example:

Examples:

Students with
a disability
might start to
feel upset that
they are
unable to
communicate
or do things
other people
can. By
providing
them with new
technology
they will be
able to explore
and develop
ways to create
that positive
attitude that
can change
how they
might feel
about it all.

they will be able
to decide they
are going to be

Students will

teach them
that just

someone has

they are.
Gifted/ Talented

Students with
a greater
understanding
of technology
can go above

the leader.
They can show
that they can

Students will go
above what
they are asked
to do. They will
analyze and go
deeper into why
does this copy

they will
build the
rocket and
figure out
the safest
way to set it

Other

Reflection: The Matrix helps us as teachers realize the different ways we are able to use technology in our classrooms. We are
able to understand how we can use different areas of technology into the different subjects. Parts of this activity, I did not entirely
see how any of this was going to come together with being an actual teacher. It would be hard to provide students with Physical
disabilities if there wasnt much we could do to help. Sometimes its hard to see the bigger picture in how technology is supposed
to help us if there is not a good way to go about learning it.
