Agrobacterium -Mediated
Transformation

Method for transferring genes into plants

through the inoculation of leaf discs with
Agrobacterium tumeficiens followed by in
vitro culture and regeneration of whole
plants. (1)

WHY
Agrobacteri
um?

Agrobacterium tumefaciens is a natural

vector system for transgenes delivery
into a wide range of plants species. (1)

SOMATIC
EMBRYOGENESIS
Somatic embryogenesis is a process whereby somatic
cells differentiate into somatic embryos. (2)
In somatic embryogenesis the embryos regenerate from
somatic cells, tissue or organs.
