Skills to be showcased in this assignment:

1. use of vocabulary related to travel and use of preterit tense
2. use of vocabulary related to weather and use of present tense
3. knowledge about a Spanish-speaking country

Process:
Create a Power Point slide show about a particular Spanish-speaking country of your
interest. In your slide show, you will answer the following questions:
1. ¿Qué puedes hacer cuando vas a COUNTRY?
2. ¿Qué tiempo hace en COUNTRY en SEASON?
3. ¿Qué más debo saber de este país? (What more should I know about this
country?)

Layout of Slide Show:

• Slide 1: Title slide  country name, your name, a photograph
• Slide 2: Map slide  map of the country showing the surrounding countries and
the capital city
• Slides 3, 4, 5, 6: Weather slides  Discuss the weather in the country (one slide
per season)
Each slide describes the weather in a full sentence in Spanish
Each slide has an appropriate image related to the slide content
• Slide 7, 8, 9 10: Lugares de interés  Pretend you just got back from a visit to
COUNTRY
Discuss what you did when you were there. Discuss the places of interest this
country has to offer. Use the preterit tense to do this.
Each slide has at least two full sentences in Spanish.
Each slide has at least one appropriate, related image.
• Slides 11, 12: More information  Use these slides to share some interesting
facts you learned about COUNTRY through your research
• Slide 13: Sources slide  List the information sources you used in the making
of your slide.

Day-by-day
• By jueves, el 4 de marzo: Tell me which country you are presenting. Prepare a
list of questions to guide your research in the computer lab on Friday.

• viernes, 5 de marzo – computer lab day – use your time wisely!!

• By lunes, 8 de marzo: Sketch out (by hand, on paper) the layout of your Slide
Show (what will go on each slide?)
• SIXTH PERIOD ONLY: Computer lab day-- use your time wisely!!
• miércoles, el 10 de marzo – computer lab day – WordChamp and other – don’t
plan on having time for your project!!
 • SECOND AND FIFTH PERIODS ONLY: Computer lab day-- use your time
wisely!!
• Friday, 12 de marzo – PROJECT IS DUE. MUST BE SAVED IN CLASS
