Statement of Future Plans
My interest in the medical field has gone back to the beginning of my sophomore
year of high school. This was the year I took Biology which fascinated me. This sparked
my interest to someday join a job in the medical field. I plan on attending UC Davis after
I graduate in order to better myself for a job in the medical field.
While attending Buckingham Charter Magnet High School I have taken many
classes to familiarize myself for my future education. I have taken Biology, Chemistry,
AP Psychology, and Human Anatomy and Physiology while getting an A in each of these
classes. I am also an active member of the Science Club. These classes and clubs allowed
for me to achieve a better understanding of medical sciences. Even after taking these
difficult classes, I have been able to maintain a grade point average of a 3.8 or higher
throughout my high school education.
Not only do I excel in my education, but I also volunteer a lot of time outside of
school. This volunteer work all began with my early childhood years. My parents
enrolled me in Solano Christian Academy, a Private Christian Elementary and Junior
High School. This school taught me a lot about helping others and treating others with the
upmost respect. I would always volunteer to help set up or work at any school functions
or fundraisers that occurred. After attending Solano Christian Academy I have been
volunteering there ever since my sophomore year of high school. On average, I spend

about 4 hours every week volunteering at the school as a teacher aide or setting up
events.
Mark Twain once said that, Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and
the blind can see. This quote ties to my law of life on the fact that no act of kindness, no
matter how small, is ever wasted. I believe that all my volunteering and prior classes that
I have taken demonstrate just how much I want to help others. For this very reason is why
I want to join the medical field in order to help others with their problems. I believe that I
cannot only make a difference in the community, but in the world as well. Everyone
should be a Good Samaritan no matter how small the deed is. Doing simple acts of
kindness goes a long way. These acts include holding a door open for someone, lending
something to someone in need, or even helping someone with his or her problem. There
is a myriad of ways that one can do to help others, but its up to us to decide how we
choose to help out.
In conclusion I see that all my prior experiences have led on me on a path to my
future plans. In order to achieve these future plans of mine I will be attending UC Davis
in order to pursue a career in the medical field to help as many people as I possibly can in
this world no matter what.
