SUCCESS STORY

TORY OF A RECOVERING ADDICT IN HIS ON WORDS

My name is Abdullah (Name Change). I belongs to a well settled and
educated family. Seven years back I was in 8th class, when unfortunately I
chose a group of friends that was not very much interested in studies. I began to
smoke will them. I felt an amazing pleasure and relaxation to take hash time by time.
In 9th class I attended a party at my friend's home and took alcohol there with hash as
well. I was taking hash two to three time in a week but no alcohol added with it. All it
continued till end of 9th class. Now it was becoming hard to concentrate on my
studies properly. I got friendship with other addicts in my neighborhood. One of them
was in heroin. He tempted me to try it progressed soon and I was taking it many times
a day. Initially i liked the way the drugs made me feel. Toward the end of my use,
everything had changed. I was hopelessly addicted. I went to bed every night
swearing not to use tomorrow, but I always did. I despised myself for my lack of will
power and for not being able to control my drug use.My family came to know as one
day my mother got my addiction stuff from my room. I was got admitted in many
addiction treatment centers but I relapsed soon after every treatment. One of my
father's friends advised him to take a tour of Fountain House Lahore. I came here
with my father and admitted in PRCDRC (Addiction Treatment Block) I entered the
block in total fear & desperation unsure of how disturbed the one or two other addicts
in the room might be. To my surprise, I was warmly greeted by recovering addicts.
Finally, I was no longer alone! On that day, first time I saw a ray of hope. It was a
powerful sensation. Group discussions taught me that my compulsive drug use was
not a moral issue but a disease called addiction, my psychologist explained that my
drug use had nothing to do with will power. I told my psychologist about it and from
that point on it became easier & easier for me to express myself early. I lived there
three months but my family decided for my stay in Lahore. I have got admission in a
private college for my further studies. Thanks to '' Fountain House '' my life has turned
around completely. I am enjoying my recovery a more than a year now.

Resource Mobilization DEPARTMENT
Fountain House is about more than just the mental health services we offer or doctors we have.
Fountain House is blessed with highly skilled professionals, care givers, executives and volunteers
working day and night, collecting donations, charities and community support to keep the flame
burning. Yes we can't be everything to everyone, so it is important for the community as a whole to Aeysha Murtaza
know what we offer. The changing landscape of healthcare will also change our Resource Mobilization Manager. HR / R.M.Dept.
strategy in the coming years. and we need them to have the best information available to make those choices. How do you
know about something if someone doesn't tell you? Resource HR/RMD Department could facilitate awareness mobilization
of resource as well as academic activities of the institution. Resource Mobilization is also increasingly becoming involved in
members (patient) communications and rehabilitation to help them improve and bring a non-clinical perspective to patient
care and services. RMD is also very efficient in taking care of Members (Patients) self respect and in helping those (Stable
Members) for their job placement so that they can rehabilitate better by interacting with society in their related setup/field.
The way we market has also changed over the years. It's no longer just local television stations, radio and the newspaper.
Social media and the Internet are exploding as places where people get their healthcare information.
