marbles correctly
Back-step/Repeat the cue: Stop him and review
the previous level of success and make sure he
has clear understanding of what numbers are
being multiplied using indirect verbal techniques.
If there is still some confusion, perform the
grouping together on an example problem and
then have him try the next problem on his own.
Prompt: Cody lets go back together and look at
the problem and clarify what it says.

Instruction
Instruction/Cue: Cody now that we have read
this problem together can you show me how
we can find the answer by using the
marbles?
Naturally occurring cue for the behavior:
When presented with a worksheet,
flashcards, and/or marbles Cody will answer
the math problems correctly 80% of the time.
Student Response/Behavior
Cody will perform multiplication problems by
using circles and colored marbles. He will work

Generalization
Stimulus Factors: Cody will then be given a
problem where he is asked to complete it without
the activity but can instead draw the circles on
his worksheet.
Response Factors: Cody will answer the problem
on the worksheet by memory or by drawing the
circles.
Special Considerations
Due to Codys anxiety, make sure he is

out problems with his instructor on 2 consecutive

tries and then perform the task by himself with
the instructor checking his process along side.

comfortable working on his own before you start

and make sure he understands that he will be
back with the class in a short period of time and
he will be fine and excited to work.
