Development Agency (CREDA).
State government has granted permission for the installation of a Geothermal
also started talks with ONGC and other international organisations for drilling
operation.

the Geological Survey of India over the last three decades after which around 340
hot springs were traced.
The Tattapani geothermal field is the most promising geothermal resource in
central India.

20) The newly-appointed Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court, Justice Yatindra
Singh,
took
the
oath
of
office
in
Chattisgarh
on
22
October
2012.
Chhattisgarh Governor Shekhar Dutt administered the oath to Justice Yatindra Singh at
Raj
Bhavan
in
Bilaspur
District
of
Chattisgarh.
Prior to appointment as Chief Justice, Justice Yatindra Singh was posted at the Allahabad
High Court. He was born in 1952 and had graduated from Allahabad University in 1970.
He had also served as Additional Advocate-General of Uttar Pradesh Between March
1997 and February 1999.He had two books written under his name entitled 'Cyberlaws'
and 'A Lawyer's World and Childhood dreams'.

23) India on 30 April 2012 announced its decision to export 2.1 million tonnes (mt) of iron ore
to steel mills of Japan and South Korea under a long-term agreement due to be signed in
May 2012. The iron ore will be supplied to leading steel mills of Japan and Korea,
including Posco, Kobe and Nippon Steel.
As approved by the cabinet in March 2012, the iron ore, having 64 per cent Fe content,
or high grade lumps is to be sourced from NMDC's Chhattisgarh mines and will be
exported through MMTC.
