Game Name : Secret code of Parenting

Size : Double of A3
Shape : Rectangular / Circular depending on design point of view.
Objective : Objective of the board game will be to teach positive parenting skills to
parents. This game will be used in a parenting seminar as a main learning tool and will
not be sold separately. Parents will play this game with each other learn the right and
wrong ways of dealing with their kids.
Target Audience : Parents with children of any age group
About the Game : This is a board based game which will have an inner circle and outer
circle on the board. Parents will start playing from inner circle where there will be
different 4 colored blocks. If parents land on any of the Blue, Green or orange, parent
will get a corresponding certificate for the same called as Parenting certificate. There
will be grey block that will be an exit block.
From Exit block parents will come to outer circle which will have 4 different type of
blocks which are spot it, parent report card, parenting circle and fun block. In parenting
circle, parents can exchange their certificates with each other and in Fun block, parents
will either get trapped on the block or they will be again sent back to inner circle.

INNER CIRCLE
The inner circle of the game board is colour coded. This represents the various levels of the
parenting certification.

Blue: Level I

(colors are for reference purpose and can be changed)

Green : Level II

(colors are for reference purpose and can be changed)

Orange: Level III

(colors are for reference purpose and can be changed)

Grey : Exit blocks (colors are for reference purpose and can be changed)

Players need to obtain all the three certification levels.

OUTER CIRCLE
Spot it: Players pick a card from the upside-downside deck. Each card has a situation written
on it. Players either win/ lose a power card.
Parent Report Card: This is a self evaluation block. Parents pick up a card that has a
question. Parents will need to rate themselves on it.
Parenting Circle: In this block, players can exchange power cards (if they have repeated
ones) and parenting certificates (if they have more than one of the same level).
Fun Blocks: Here the players either get trapped or go back to the inner circle to complete
their parenting course.

CARD DECKS

Spot it Deck of Cards : In these set of cards, there will be situations written on it in
which parents might have handled their kids in positive and negative way.
1. For Example : You have guests at home who are accompanied with their kids. Your
child refuses to share his toys with them. You are extremely upset and yell at your
child.

Secret Code (colour coded with blue, green or orange as per inner
circle) : This include cards which will have positive parenting techniques written on it.
There will be 51 such cards with 17 of each color. These will be front and back cards with
front remain the same and back side there will content.

Connection Before Correction
Create closeness and trust instead of distance and hostility by making sure that the
message of love gets through.
Connection creates a sense of safety and openness. Punishment, lecturing, nagging,
scolding, blaming or shaming create fight, flight, or freeze.
