Snow College Field Day
Spanish Fork FFA took 39 students to FFA Snow College Field Day. There students competed in multiple competitions including Dairy Evaluation, Livestock Evaluation, Floriculture, Agronomy, Horse Evaluation, Farm Business Management, and Veterinary Science.
Our Livestock Evaluation teams did great. The Junior High Team consisting of Tanner
Voorhees, Porter Olsen, Jessica Olsen, and Brooke Sorensen won the contest. The High
School team consisting of Payton Redd, Colton Stulce, Mallory Sorensen, and Amanda Olsen received third. There were approximately 75 teams competing. In addition Tanner
Voorhees was named the top individual with Jessica Olsen receiving second. They each received a trophy and a scholarship to Snow College.
Congratulations to all our students who competed. We look forward to starting practices
and having more success at future competitions.

Farmers Cooperative Quiz
Three members from Spanish Fork were able to go and participate in the Utah Council of
Farmers Cooperatives quiz. Students were competing for a partial payment of a trip to
Washington Leadership Conference. Our three students: Porter, Amanda, and Lindsey Olsen
all did well, but did not place in the top three. They spent the evening getting to know those
in the council and mingling with industry professionals.

Project Pig
Currently Spanish Fork FFA is raising 50 pigs
to be sold. The money raised will help to support local students as they go to livestock
shows throughout the state. Students have
been caring for these pigs by cleaning pens,
filling feeders, and doing overall welfare
checks. This is a great way to show students
that not all pigs are stock show animals and
that you market them in different ways. Classes
will be going to the animal lab to help with
medical procedures to help with hands on
practices.

Swing Dance Social

The swing dance social was a major hit. Students were able to learn three new line dances, learn how to
swing dance and practice. Thanks to the Utah State Officers, Wyatt McDaniel, Sabrina Sage and Kaci
