Careers project.

Slide 3: University/College.
I think that the university which I would prefer is, University of Waterloo. Thats
because I feel that this university is a great university and also provides the program that
is necessary for me to take to be what I want and do what I want to.
I chose a university in Ontario because I feel that since there is already a really
good university here than why bother going to some other place, like to the state. Also it
is better to go a university here so I can still be with my family and friends.

4,500 employers. If you are an engineering or architecture student at Waterloo you are
automatically entered into the co-op program. Up to two years of real-world experience

in the engineering field there are no minor studies available.

OSAP stands for, Ontario Student Assistance Program.
Right now I am not so sure if I should apply for it or not, but if later on I think that it is a
good idea and I should, then I might.
30% off Ontario tuition grant incentive.
The 30% Off Ontario Tuition grant is for undergraduate students going to a public
college, university or private postsecondary school in Ontario. If youve already applied
for OSAP, youll be automatically considered for this grant.
For the 2015-2016 academic year the grant provides up to:
$1830 for university and college degree students
$850 for college diploma and certificate students

Architects plan and design buildings such as home, office towers and other structures.
The role of an architect is very varied and can range from freelance and small-scale
project work, to employment with multinational organisations working on iconic
landmarks.

Architects typically do the following:
Meet with clients to determine objectives and requirements for structures
Estimate the amount of required materials, equipment, and construction
time

Prepare structure specifications


Direct workers who prepare drawings and documents
Prepare scaled drawings with computer software and by hand
Prepare contract documents for building contractors
Manage construction contracts
Visit worksites to ensure that construction adheres to architectural plans
Seek new work by marketing and giving presentations

There is a huge range in an architects income. Those working as interns after
graduation from an architecture program generally earn between $40,000 and $60,000 a
year. After completing this training period, most architects make between $50,000 and
$100,000 a year, although there are some who make more than this.
