How Our Drill Will Work

Everyone is going to be divided into pairs of responders

Each pair is going to get a trauma bag
Pairs will line up at the door outside the assembly room and be dispatched in
groups of 4 pairs at a time.
When you are dispatched, you will triage ONE patient
Some patients may be stuck under rubble. These patients may be stuck for a
designated time after triage.
Control life threats- breathing problems, bleeding problems...
Listen to the triage officer
When finished, please take a seat

Pitt Student EMS

How Our Drill Will Work Continued...

Once all the pairs have gone, you will be dispatched again.
You will take ONE patient to the treatment area (Red, Yellow, & Green)
You will then be able to do a secondary assessment and treat your patient.
Listen to the transport officer
Your patients will know their vitals/ pertinent history
Once your patient has been treated and transported patients must sit in the chairs
along the perimeter
If there are patients remaining, you may go get another one to treat.

Notes:

Anyone with a pink wrist band can help you if you have questions
You can consult with the doctors on treatment.

Safety

We will not be carrying anyone- simulate carry. If 2 people are needed to carry
someone, 2 people must walk with the patient to the desired area
Will not tighten tourniquets- check for pulse
No running- running leads to accidents
Responders MUST wear glove
In the event of a REAL emergency, say THIS IS A REAL EMERGENCY
Safety officers can stop the drill at any moment if they see something unsafe

End Drill
