POST-TEACHING REFLECTION
When I first approached Mr. Smith about doing a Kahoot game and a pre/post quiz with the
students, he told me to go for it. He had never used Kahoot in his classroom before. I told him I
was going to need technology for it, so we decided that the students could either use their

smartphones, if they had one, or a school laptop. When he told me that I could to the section on
world religions, he told me that he doesnt do that section very often but thought it would be a
good lesson to teach. The students were taking mid-terms that week, so we felt it would be a
good distraction for them to do something they dont usually do. The day before I taught, Mr.
Smith gave them to pre-test and I picked them up after school because I could not be there that
day. After grading the pre-test, I knew what I needed to go over more when I was going over the
section. I taught this section over a few days because of mid-terms and my school schedule. I
went over the section with the students, breaking it down by each different religion. I talked
about each religion and stressed the important facts they needed to remember. The students in all
the classes seemed to pay very good attention during my lecture because they knew we were
going to do a review Kahoot game before they took their post-test.
When we started the Kahoot game, most students used their smart phones. A few students in each
class used the laptop computers the school has for school use. The students all did wonderful
with the game. From what I could tell, they loved it. I was told after the game that they loved that
it was different than what they were used to doing. After the Kahoot game, they took their posttest. All the students scores improved on their post-test. These post-test scores told me that how
I taught them and the review game worked to help them retain the information they needed to
retain.
Overall, I think the lesson went very well. I think the students learned new information and had
fun while doing it. I know education is not supposed to be fun but I think that if students enjoy
what they are learning, then they will retain the information better. I loved this lesson and hope
to be able to teach it again in the future.
