PROCEDURE
Introduction: 6 min
Hook/Attention Grabber: What do we kick? (Understand application of lesson) What are the health benefits of kicking?
Assessment of Prior Knowledge: Go over three types of throwing from the previous day
Agenda: Warm up, demonstration, practice/video themselves, assessment, exit slip
Transition to Body: What are the different ways you can kick something? With a partner experiment those different ways
Body: 35 min
Learning Activity #1: Explanation and Demonstration
Today we are going to practice kicking with both feet. When kicking we want to make sure we have the proper form, so
while you practice KEYS make sure that you swing your kicking foot back, kick the ball with the inside of your big toe,
and point at your target. Demonstrate.
Learning Activity #2: Practice and Video Themselves
With a partner practice kicking using alternate feet, making sure you are demonstrating the three keys to proper form we
discussed previously. Take turns videoing your partner kicking the ball.
Learning Activity #3: Assessment
With your partner review your videos, evaluate your form, chose one flaw in your technique and practice correcting that
flaw
Loop back and forth between Activity #2 and #3
Closure: 2 min
Consolidation/ Assessment of Learning: Exit slip (one thing you did well at and one thing you changed about your
technique)
