Re: Officer Mustafa Salahuddin

Dear Attorney Serafinowicz:

Thank you for your prompt response of March 24, 2010 regarding the above Ansonia
Police Officer.

Regardless of the opinion of Doctor Harry Adamakos, Officer Salahuddin will be

removed from paid administrative leave at the end of this current week/pay cycle.

If Officer Salahuddin, in conjunction with his doctor, elects not to immediately return to
work at the Ansonia Police Department, they and you will need to base the absence on
one of the following, if any, in fact, apply:

(1) sick leave, if duly taken based on current protocol and procedure;
(2) FMLA leave, after appropriate use of vacation, personal and sick
days; or
(3) Workers’ Compensation claim, if accepted.

Given your earlier correspondence, I have advised the Ansonia Police Department not to
expect Officer Salahuddin to report for work on Monday, March 29, 2010.

Once again, please note as of next week, Officer Salahuddin will not be allowed paid
administrative leave.
