1. Number Sense,

Operations

2. Patterns,
Functions, and

ISTE Standard:
4C
Example:
Students could
create a
operations
video that
shows
students
explaining
them but
doing it to a
dance or
something. A
music dance
video or
something that
helps the
students think
about the
operation and
learn about it.

Algebraic Structures
3. Analysis,
Statistics, and
Probability
4. Shape, Dimension,
and Geometric
Relations

ISTE Standard:
2B
Example:
Students would
make a
storyboard that
helps explain the
use of geometric
shapes.
Somehow they
would create a
situation that
shows the
comparison
between shapes
and how the
different
characteristics
help to see the
difference
between shapes.

Creating
Creating would be
appropriate in this
situation because
students are
using a form of
technology to
change the point
of view of how to
learn something.
It would allow
them to see that
they can learn
something
beyond just the
teacher.

Reading, Writing, and Communicating

1. Oral Expression
and Listening
2. Reading for All

3B
Example:
Students will
create a video
of themselves
talking about a
book we have
read. They will
explain the
things they
have noticed
and the things
that they liked
and didnt like.
Then we will
look at them
and watch
them along
with their
parents to see
how they have
learned and
grown in their
reading.

Students would
use what they
learned in the
book and in
talking about it in
the video and see
how it could apply
to outside things.

Understanding

Standards: 5A

Students would

use what they

have learned to
and create the
videos. This
would be a way
that as a
teacher we
would be able to
see if the
students have
fully understood
what the history
behind it all is.

Example:
Students
would research
a country and
pick a
significant
event and then
do a news
show about it.
They would
pick like Top
Stories or
events and
create the
news video
about it.

2. Geography
3. Economics
4. Civics

ISTE Standards:
2D
Example:
Students will
gather in teams
and focus on a
central issue in
the community.
They will come
together and
create an
effective way to

Evaluating
Students will be
presenting an
idea and they will
need to be able to
understand or
evaluate on their
position of how
their solution is
the best one.

figure out a
solution. Based
on the solution
they come up
with, they will
create a
promotional
video in how to
convince their
fellow students
that their
solution will be
the best
solution.

Science
1. Physical Science
2. Life Science

ISTE Standards:
2C
Example:
Students would
research a
environmental
or species issue
and then see
how all that can
relate to cultural
things around
the world. They
would create a
factual video
about what they
learned and

Applying
Students would
take what they
learned and see if
what they have
learned can be
used in a new
way. Does
learning about
animals and
environmental
issues help you
see things in a
new way?

present it to the
class.

3. Earth Systems
Science

ISTE Standard:
2A
Example:
Students
would learn
about the
meteorology
forecasting
system. They
would learn
about the
creativity
behind it and
how it came to
be and create
a storyboard
about what
they have
learned.

Remembering
Students will learn
about the
information and
then talk to other
people about it.
See if what they
learned can help
them build their
storyboard and
remember it from
what was
presented.

them apply it.

Other

Reflection: Overall, this one was very fun to do. It makes you think outside the box and really think about how you
could do this in your classroom. Sometimes I could see how it would get very repetitive because making a video and
making a storyboard doesnt entirely allow the students to use their creativity. However, in a different way it allows
them to use their creativity. Each student and group of students will come up with an expanded idea. As the teacher
we give them a simple thing idea and they expand on it in their own ways.
