INTRODUCTION
Child abuse is one of the most complex problems in society, and in which it is more
difficult to intervene is rarely reported until the risk of the life of children is evident.
To kick off This Project will start by explaining that is child abuse, Identify the causes and
most importantly will Explain how violent will.
Therefore it is important to conduct research that will enable us to know the different
characteristics, causes and child abuse types.
Thus the aim of this research project is to rank the possible causes that have been evident in
the theoretical review, which are constituted as factires determining child abuse and
therefore the lives of children of children who are victims.
Therefore we will make different theoretical queries that would allow the collection of
information to recognize issue, raise the causes and support them as the basis of this
investigation.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
1. What is child abuse?
It is called child abuse or child abuse to any action (physical, sexual or emotional) or not
accidental omission in the treatment of a minor by a parent or caregiver, which causes
physical or psychological.
Additional to that , the " abuse " should also take into account at least three criteria : first ,
consideration of an act or omission as " abuse " depends , in most cases , the age of the
child; secondly, the psycho - physiological condition of the child may condition the
consequences of the act or omission exerted on it , which can lead to a relativization of
consideration as abuse; and , thirdly , we must also note that not necessarily all acts of
abuse have to leave immediate and visible consequences in the least ; This is especially
important because the consequences of child abuse cases are often not the physical, but
those affecting the development of children in the medium and long term. (WIKIPEDIA,
2015).
Nothing will be said that sexual abuse is the presence of a non-accidental injury resulting
from acts of commission (physical aggression) or omission (lack of attention from those in
charge of the child and requires medical attention or legal intervention (Santana Rosalinda,
1998).
On the other hand can also be said that it is child abuse and mistreatment any recent act or
failure of the parent or caregiver of the child resulting in death, serious physical or
emotional harm, sexual abuse or exploitation, or an act or failure to result in an imminent
risk of serious harm (James, 1998).

2. Causes:
Personality of parents and caregivers: Little tolerant, they lack self-control, have low selfesteem and are generally hostile, anxious and tend to be depressive.
Factors associated with children: Behavior problems, difficult temperament.
Family background factors: The age of the parent (teenage parents), family stress caused by
parental unemployment, economic difficulties, aggression between different family
members.
Environmental factors: Stop the cycle of violence Consumption of alcohol and other
psychoactive substances, unwanted pregnancies, life histories marked by parental abuse in
childhood.
The causes a general level according to a study by the American Psychologist called Child
Maltreatment: An Ecological Integration are:
When parents with little or no prior experience in child care (ontogenic development) are
Confronted with a temperamentally difficult, physically handicapped, or premature infant
(the microsystem), maltreatment is likely to take place if there are no friends or relatives to
turn to Whom for assistance (the exosystem). An unplanned baby Stimulates Whose arrival
spousal conflict or depletes household Already scarce resources (the microsystem) will be
mistreated if a parent with a developmental history of abuse or neglect (on-togenic
development) Loses his or her job (the exo-system). "
That seen from an ecological perspective, bearing in mind also the story of people and their
relationship with the environment. (BELSKY, 1980)

3. Types of child abuse

According to the ICBF reveals the different types and causes which may occur in
child abuse Colombian households.
Psychological: Insults, verbal abuse, rejection, contempt, ridicule and threats.
Physical: Beats by hand or cables, belts, sticks, pinching, slapping, fist, among
others.
Abandonment, neglect or carelessness: When parents or caregivers are unable to
meetbasic emotional needs (food, hygiene, clothing) and.
Evolving: When the pregnant mother is abused psychologically, physically or when
thechild is rejected by the mother from the moment of conception.

4. Alternatives against child abuse

Educate parents and teachers in peaceful conflict resolution, parenting patterns and
assertive communication, through parents and schools as a constant in teacher
education.
After identification of the problem of child abuse in a family, refer a psychosocial
process with the Institute of Family Welfare, to treat the problem
Continue a psychological process with parents, with children victims of child abuse and
follow up after treatment with the social area, to verify the conditions Children and
adolescents
