After analyzing this unit test, it appears that most students either mastered or are
proficient in the information and skills from this unit. All students mastered finding
details and most mastered the unit vocabulary, main idea and purpose, and story
elements. Some general review would be beneficial to all students to cover this
theme and summarization skills and text features and point of view because these
topics were missed the most. Certain students will need to be retaught the unit
vocabulary, main idea and purpose, and story elements. While I am reteaching each
area to those students who need to work on these skills, students who have
mastered them will have the option to read their independent reading book and
summarize where they see at least two of the elements covered in the test or write
their own story and show how at least one of the elements is incorporated.
