3. Content
What do I want the learners to know and/or be able to do?
Have students to be able to skip. Those that can skip, improve their technique.
Today learners will:
Today we will be learning how to skip. We will work on landing on two feet, landing with one foot and working as a
team.

5. Learning Context
A. The Learners
(i) What prior experiences, knowledge and skills do the learners bring with them to this learning
experience?
Students will have very different background knowledge and skills. However, I expect that most students will be
able to jump over their skipping jump. If not, I will teach them how to skip/jump over their rope with confidence and
competence by the end of the class.

(ii) How will I differentiate the instruction (content, process and/or product) to ensure the inclusion of all

Breaking down the fundamental movement of skipping into 6 easy steps.
B. Learning Environment
Clear floor of any materials, set up a dynamic warm-up. Let the students lead warm-up, (instruct students to warm
up their legs, shoulders, neck, and arms)
Use the circle for a point of class management.
Run through basic safety rules for use of skipping ropes.
Break off into two groups
Play a game (mirror) in sets of twos.

6. Teaching/Learning Strategies
INTRODUCTION, MIDDLE, CONCLUSION
How will I engage the learners? (e.g., motivational strategy, hook, activation of learners prior knowledge,
activities, procedures, compelling problem)
Welcome the class, thank them for letting me come in for a visit. Have a participation prize, student can enter
into the draw. Their names will already be on a postage note.
11:30-11:31 Physical Education class starts.
11:30-11:35 Change into gym clothing. Start off in circle.
11:35-11:39 Introduction myself, hand out skipping ropes and go over safe rules and prepare for students to loosen
up.
11:40-11:45 Loosen up include one min of skipping, Talk about two/one foot landing, and alternating feet when
jumping
11:45- 11: 50 Play a mirror game. Label students 1s & 2s.
11:50-11:54 (next activity) Jump in pairs, switch handle bars with your partner and jump together
11:54-11:58 (next activity) Jump with one skipping rope, holding your partner hand, or link arms
11:58-12:00 Circle, wrap up skipping ropes. Thank everyone for letting me skip with them today.

CONCLUSION: How will I conclude the lesson?

Bring students back to circle and wrapping up skipping ropes, by folding them in half. Thanks student for
letting me join them today.
