Dear RWS 1301 Students,
Characteristics - A vital agency here at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is the
Technology Support Center. This agency is not limited to simply technology support, and
providing workshops and equipment to use on site or for rental; the technology support center
has much more resources than commonly believed. The technology support center provides
video editing workstations powerful enough to generate complex video editing and work with
large files. With the many software workshops that provide hands on training on many programs
used by many professionals, they prepare you for work outside of school. When time at school is
limited, you have the ability to rent equipment such as laptops, video cameras, and voice
recorders. By no means is the technology support center focused on engineering majors; they
provide valuable assistance to all students on campus and is located in the library.
Purpose Providing all students with a wide arrange of useful services for all fields of education
present at UTEP. When the time comes that you need help brain storming or peer editing your
paper, the technology center provides group study rooms and a collaborative learning center for
different viewpoints on your work. At the time your computer begins to malfunction, the tech
support center can help diagnose and repair your computer so you can continue to work
efficiently on your own device. If a problem should rise with any UTEP accounts, the technology
support center can also help you in resetting passwords and resolving problems you see in your
account. By providing students with all the necessary resources, they provide you with the
opportunity to achieve the best possible grade for all your assignments and remove all excuses
for not completing them.
Genre The technology support center does not require you to be present in their facility to
assist you. With a high amount of communication traffic occurring through e-mail, you can ask
for assistance at any time and patiently wait to receive a response. Containing more than 290
computers gives you the availability to countless web articles and the librarys personal data
bases. They help thousands of students by providing them with more than enough sources for
essays or class projects. Also, being located in the library gives you access to countless books as
well.
