Process: (In detail)

Warm-ups
o Students will play a perfect fifth (C-G) on their own until everyone is ready to
play together
o Showing the students the flashcards, ask individual students for the name of the
note and the fingering. The group will then play the note together.
Essential Elements
o Review the half note exercise on page 6
Ensure that students know how to identify and count a half notes
o Play through page 6
Stop and correct errors if necessary (fingerings, incorrect notes, incorrect
rhythms)
Closure
o Ask if students have any questions about page 7
o Have students practice page 7 for their next lesson

Assessment:

Teacher Observation
o Observe students throughout class to ensure that everyone using the correct
fingerings, demonstrating correct playing posture, and breathing.
