Outline of Session
a. How subject was introduced
i. Began with Daily Math activity
1. A series of questions that students complete on their own, then
review as a class
2. Mrs. Stevenson then walks to each individual student to check
they have completed their work

i. Have students read out loud together

d. Brief Description of Lesson


i. Students moved onto Group Math. The teacher would project questions
on the white board and using white boards at their desks, the students
would work through the problems in their small groups. Answers were
reviewed as a class.
ii. Students then move to work on a page in their math journals. The pages
in the journals correlate with a website the teacher can use to check their
work
iii. After completing their work, the students played a game. They were in
groups of three. Students B and C held cards up to their heads (they
couldnt see which card they had). Student A had to tell them the sum of
both cards. Students B and C, after seeing each others cards, had to
guess the number on their card.

i. When the room would get too noisy, the teacher would countdown and
simply say, come back to me in 3, 2, 1
ii. The teacher doesnt call on the same students. She gives everyone a
chance to talk.
iii. Tells students that if they complete their work, they will play a game.
