Heat up the crude oil until 40C 75C. Collect the distillate in a test tube labelled A. Continue heating until the crude oil reaches 230C 250C. Collect the distillate in a test tube labelled B. Pour distillate A and B into 2 different crucibles. Light them up with a lighter. Observe the amount of soot produced from each crucible.
Y is brighter because it is connected in parallel. This means Y receives voltage that is
equals to 1 battery which is higher than X that share the voltage of 1 battery with the others. Parallel circuit because if 1 component fails, the others will still work. Adding in more components will also reduce the resistance.
