I create a Voice

with my class as
extra assistance
to any homework
clarification they
might need on the
properties
discussed in class
that day. I use
examples from
the book and
concepts from
several
mathematicians,
but stay within
the fair use
guidelines.

c. Communicate
relevant
information and
ideas effective to
students parents,
and peers using a
variety of digital
age media and
formats

Understand
The Voice Thread
allows the students to
see visual illustrations
of the problems they
are struggling withultimately allowing for
their understanding
and interpreting of the
problems and
concepts. Along with
the understanding of
the key concepts, they
are also given an
illustration of what fair
use should consist of.

I separate my
classroom into five
groups, and ask
each group to come

1. Oral Expression and
Listening

After listening to
my Copyright and
Fair Use
PowerPoint, my
students are each
given an example
that either
supports fair use,
or violates fair
use. The students
will be asked to
give a brief
presentation to
the class
explaining if they
believe their
example
represents fair
use or a violation
of fair use.

4. Research and
Reasoning

Students are asked

to write a research
paper detailing the
major life events of
their favorite actor
or actress using at
least three web
sources. Their paper
must demonstrate
their knowledge of

explanation about
the stages of
growth for the
lima beans we are
growing in our
classroom. My
presentation
includes a variety
of sources
including pictures

related to the use
of technology and

The students will have
a conceptual

I place my
students into

the students to

are able to

also demonstrates
to me that the
students are able
to conduct a
research project
that demonstrates
fair use.

Other
Reflection:
I was initially very apprehensive about creating my first matrix, however, as I delved deeper and deeper into the assignment, I
realized it truly was not as difficult as I thought it to be. It became very clear, right off the bat, just how important technology
integration will be in my classroom someday, because most of the assignments and ideas I came up with to fulfil each standard
involved technology. That being said, it is of upmost importance that I understand, along with my students, how to integrate
technology properly without violating any copyright or fair use guidelines. I also really appreciated the greater understanding of
the CDE and ISTE standards this matrix gave me, as it forced me to go back to the standards over and over and familiarize myself
with them. I did not understand how my Copyright and Fair Use PowerPoint would translate over into my Technology Integration
Matrix, initially, but after completing my matrix I now see just how related the two are.
