Q17: Please provide comments in regards to the student teacher's strengths and areas for improvement.
Carly seems to be very excited and enthusiastic about pursuing her teaching career. She has forged positive
relationships with the students that she has worked with during her time at Woodstock. She is open to ideas and
suggestions, and she has implemented suggestions immediately. As for areas of improvement, I would like to see her
develop more of a commanding presence with her learners to establish a more productive and student- centered
learning environment. That being said, she needs to continue to teach and review classroom routines and rituals so that
her lessons are not hijacked by disruptive or disengaged students. During our post conference, we discussed the need
for closure to a lesson and time to assess what the student has learned and is processing by ways of exit tickets,
conversations, or response/ digital process logs. I would encourage Carly to continue to seek out professional
development in technology integration and effective classroom management strategies. She is definitely a strong
learner, who is capable of providing effective instruction and eager to develop herself into an exemplary teacher.
