FORENSIC SCIENCE PROPOSAL

To: Professor Esther Al-Tabba

From: Daniel Sigala
Subject: Proposal to research and provide the public with the true definition of forensic
science. To prove that the eyeful material of, Hollywood can be false when it comes to
portraying a certain subject (forensic science). Also expanding my knowledge on how to
pursue a career in this field and investigate the requirements necessary to be successful in
this career field.
Purpose: The purpose of this project is to investigate the writing of my discipline and
why the eye candy of pop culture has influenced the publics view of forensic science.
The field of forensic science, in most cases, is very vague due to the portrayal of this
science on TV and film. Because of this, the public may not know how important forensic
science is in our society.
Discussion: This proposal is to help the public as well as myself to know the true
meaning of forensic science. Upon completion, the public will find out that forensic
science isnt based on what they see on TV and film. They will also know why it is so
important in our society in the criminal justice system. In addition this proposal will aid
me in furthering my knowledge in this field and will also influence my career choice.
Topics to Investigate:
1. What influence does pop culture have on the public in portraying the field of
forensic science?
2. What is the true definition of forensic science?
3. What role does forensic science play in criminal justice?
4. Why is forensic science so important in our society?
