READING JOURNAL:

Listed below you will find a variety of questions to ask yourself as you read the book you have chosen.
Your task is to utilize the questions to help you gain a better understanding of the text. As you read the
text, you will need to reword the questions as it applies to the subject matter. Be sure to include the page
number. On the other side, you will need to write a response to the question based upon the text and your
own philosophy/experiences. You will need to have at least 10 entries. The entries need to be spaced out
so you have roughly 3 from the beginning, middle, and end of the book. You can only use each

question a maximum of twice.

campus between the men and how they were really

An important quote in this book I thought was very


important because it practically summarized what
these men wanted and why they were willing to
fight for it. (101)

way of thinking?

The british season of 1920 changed my thoughts on


rowing a little bit and gave me a look at what it was
like then and how it now. I was able to see change
and also the different types of ways they do things.

text relate to seniors who
are about to graduate?

The quote of page (176) soon you will be crowned


with laurels,which will wither, beause you have
fought and conquered, but fight above all the human
beast within youself and conquer it, to be crowned
with the laurels of immortality can relate to seniors
and how we are looking to the furture and we will
need to fight if we want to be someone some day.

What do they mean to you personally? (176-190) is all about the opening ceremony and talks
about Games, this means a lot to me because I love crew and the olympic games would be a
life changing experience. I enjoyed reading about it.
k)Why is this material important? This material is very important because it talks about the
olypic events and who beats who.(180-190)

What is the most important word/sentence/paragraph? Race Day.a time for athlete to saty off
their legs, to metally prepare and get ther minds occupies and focused:a time to relax as much
as pssible before the race:a time to write some last notes in a jurnal or a letter home. This is
the most important sentence of this paragraph because its all about raceday and it makes you
feel the intensity of the time. (190-220)

race of 1920 it began a revolution
