Successfully completed 8 weeks of student teaching. Instructed and conducted band and orchestra to students
in grades 6, 7, and 8. Designed and administered a 3-week long music theory and composition unit, culminating
in the performance of a student-written piece for band. Administered playing tests, taught lessons in music to
beginners, and developed a deeper knowledge of wind band pedagogy and repertoire through work-study and
independent study.

ASSISTANT MARCHING BAND DIRECTOR, THORNTON HIGH SCHOOL; THORNTON, CO 2010

Taught marching band and concert band alongside primary band director for one school year. Responsible for
instruction in music theory, music history, as well as wind band pedagogy in large and small group settings. Contributions include:
Successfully rebuilt the marching band, growing from 28 total members (2009) to 74 (2010)
