Cooperative Project
Project Description
This project used a collaborative effort between four students to create a multimedia
presentation using Camtasia software. Project members worked together to research,
write and create content both for a project website as well as several Camtasia
presentations. The project subject matter deals with how to teach Texas middle school
students to conduct better research online.
Standards Met
This project demonstrates proficiencies in the following AECT standards: Standard 1
Content Knowledge, Standard 2 Content Pedagogy, Standard 3 Learning
Environments, Standard 4 Professional Knowledge and Skills, and Standard 5
Research. The chart below illustrates the performances that fulfill the AECT standards.
Justification
1.2 Camtasia was used in conjunction
with a wiki as the technological resources
for this project. Camtasia was used for
presentation purposes while the wiki was
used for ease of collaboration with other
team members.
1.5 The project was ethical, not violating
any of the ethics defined and developed
by the Association for Educational
Communications and Technology.

4.1 Project was truly collaborative in
nature. The four-member team divided
the workload equally but met regularly
online (in Blackboard Team Rooms) and
via email to discuss the project and work
together to create a unified project.
4.5 Team members came from diverse
cultural backgrounds and were living in
two different countries at the time the
project was put together. All team
members took into consideration the
limitations and needs of other team
members when working together online or
individually.
Justification
Modifications Made
During the course a number of small modifications were made to the project.
These consisted of aesthetic as well as functional improvements. Several small
changes were made to the wiki to make sure it looked clean and was not
cluttered with anything unnecessary that would distract the learner.
