To: Environmental Monitoring Technician Hiring Manager for LUITPOLD Pharmaceuticals

Dear Hiring Manager for the Environmental Monitoring Technician for LUITPOLD
Pharmaceuticals my name is Matthew Castorena and I am earning a Bachelors degree in
Bioenvrionmental Sciences from Texas A&M University. I heard about your company while
doing research for jobs online. I believe I am a good candidate for the Environmental Monitoring
Technician position as I have previous experience while interning as an environmental
monitoring technician at FujiFilm Diosynth Biotechnologies Texas (FDBT), performing tasks
which including but not limited to taking and handling air and water samples.
Interning at FDBT I produced air samples in mobile clean rooms doing so using aseptic
techniques. Having previous experience taking samples aseptically I believe will allow me to
integrate better with your company for the position as it would require me to take samples using
an aseptic technique. My internship also required me to take water samples around the facility as
well as conducting pH tests and conductivity tests on the samples. I am also very familiar with
personal protective equipment used when taking samples in the mobile clean rooms and
throughout the facility, such equipment can include sterile gloves, protective shoes, and
jumpsuits. Proper documentation is important to any company something I also had practice
with. Documentation for my internship included documenting all observations and analysis of
samples taken as well as checking documentation on others to help with corrections and check
for any deviations so that they could be reported. I am very accustomed to working in teams as
well as working independently. When working in teams I perform well at planning out the work
that needs to be completed so that it can be done in an efficient manner and completed before the
designated deadline.
I have also taken several classes over the years while earning my degree at Texas A&M
that would make me a good fit for this company as these courses allowed me to have a better
understanding of the job and allow me to have the knowledge to perform the job. Courses that I
have taken that I believe have prepared me for this position include coursework in biology,
microbiology, chemistry, pathology, as well as a class on environmental monitoring.
Researching LUITPOLD Pharmaceuticals I believe my experience I earned in my
internship as well as related coursework from my time in Texas A&M would make me a prime
candidate for the position as well as my ability to work in teams efficiently as well as
independently without supervision. I hope hear from you soon and look forward to the possibility
of working with your company.
Warm Regards
Matthew Castorena
