Nursing Diagnosis
Inadequate nutrition among individuals living in
poverty within the community census tract 1600
related to poor economic status and increased
consumption of processed foods as evidenced by
food pantry distributions of processed/canned foods
and prevalence of homeless personnel within the
community.

Evidence Based
Intervention
WHAT: To provide teaching about the nutritional and health
value of eating fresh fruits and vegetables
WHERE: Outside Josephs Pantry in the parking lot of Grace
St. Pauls Episcopalian Church
WHY: Identified as a need through volunteers at the pantry
due to items being distributed to people of the community
HOW: Provide nutritional education presentation through
use of poster boards, fresh fruits and vegetables as
incentive to participate (Market on the Move), and
questionnaire and flyer distribution with local resources.
