WhileAlzheimersDiseaseisoftenmistakenforDementia,thetwoareactually
different,asshownbythetable.Dementiaisaconditionofthebrainwhichinhibitsmemoryand
perceptioncenters,whileAlzheimersisadiseasethatdisplaystheseconditions.Thismeansthat
DementiaisasymptomofAlzheimerswhileAlzheimersisamorespecifictype.Alzheimers
Diseasecanoccurinpatientsasyoungas30,forexample,andcaninvolvemoodandpersonality
changesinadditiontothebasicDementiasymptoms.Manypeopledonotknowthedifferences,
butitisclearthatthetwoneedtobeabletobedistinguishedfromoneanother.

ailments.Itisbelievedthatthereasonsforthiscouldrangefromlivingconditions,to
environmentalfactors,andeventosomegeneticriskfactors.
