Standard #7: Planning for Instruction
The teacher plans instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning goals by
drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and pedagogy, as
well as knowledge of learners and the community context.

Name of Artifact: Thematic Unit Plan

Date: September 13th, 2015
Course: EDUC 255
Brief Description: For this specific assignment I created a thematic unit. For my thematic plan I
choose for my unit to be about awesome Dinosaurs. I created it based of the childrens book,
How Do Dinosaurs Play with Friends? I will include the Indiana Academic Standards that the
activity will meet in the unit.
Rationale- To document my understanding of Intasc Standard #7, Planning for Instruction, I
chose to include my thematic unit plan assignment. This indicates that I understand how to plan
for instruction appropriately. It also shows I am able to meet the learning goals of the children.
