Reflection about English lesson: Letter A

In 6-10-2015. I teach students in Al Rafeah kindergarten new language which English (they dont have
the English language in the kindergarten) and I teach them letter A. In this lesson I sing Alphabet song
for students and I will ask them to sing with me. Then I sing A letter song with the students. After that, I
show them A letter And how we say it. Then I gave students words that start by A letter. Then made
students show me letter A between different letters. After that, I divided students to three group to give
them activities (High level: put clips in the paper to show me where is A letter and write A letter three
time. Medium level: put a circle in the A letter and low level: color the letter A). Then I Sing anther song
about Alphabet. This lesson is a challenge for me because is it the first lesson in new language. I like
when I sing for students the alphabet song the sing with me and I shocked because they knew how to
sing the alphabet song. Then I discover that they know the song, but they dont know what this song
mean so I told them I will teach some of these letters in this song. When I teach them the letter they felt
excited because they want to discover this language. In this lesson, I dislike some of the activities such
identify letter A between different letters because it is difficult for students to identify it. Also, it is the
first time to me to teach students English lesson so I felt nervous. In this lesson, I have four aims which
are: Identify the letter (A), Classify letter (A) between different letters, Match (A) letter with word and
identify the sound of (A) letter. I achieve two aims (Identify the letter (A) and identify the sound of (A)
letter) but I dont achieve anther two aims (Classify letter (A) between different letters and match (A)
letter with the word) because there are difficult for students in the first lesson in new language. I liked
the activity because it include different learning styles.

Reflection about Math lesson: number seven.

On 28 of October, I taught the students number seven. First I review the previous numbers (from 1 to 6)
to make sure that the students know the numbers that they took it and make them ready to start new
number. I sing numbers song with the students because I want to make them pay attention and make
the student who has the ability to learn by listening learn more by singing songs. After that, I teach
them new number which is number 7.
If I will teach this lesson in the future, I will use the same song about weekdays to link the lesson and
daily life. Also, I will follow the same way to teaching the lesson (first I show the students seven objects
then I show them number seven sign after that I let them write the number). In addition, I will use the
same activities for levels. I gave high level: craftwork about number seven. For medium level, I let them
order the snake and put number card (from 1 to 7) on it. The low level I ask them to make a necklace
with seven stones. I think these activities help the students learn easier and each activity is suitable for
the level. For example, The low-level activity will help students to develop their fine motor and cognitive
skills.
I upset about the time. I do not manage the time in a right way. I spent a lot of time when the students
do differentiation. I do not have time in the end of the lesson to review what the students took.
However, I like this lesson because it is about numbers and the numbers are very important in our life. I
felt exciting to do different activities with students also students feel interested while they do activities.
This lesson is very successful because it include different learning style. This lesson includes good and
suitable activities for levels and each activity develop students fine motor skills and improve the
cognitive skills in students.

Reflection about Math lesson: circle.

On 11 of October, I taught the students a math lesson which is a circle. In this lesson, I reviewed the
previous shapes (square and rectangle). Then I gave the students a box and I put things with circle shape
in it then I ask students questions about these things to discover the lesson. After that I sing circle song
than I gave the students envelopes that include the different shape and I will ask them to show me a
circle. Then I did with them craftwork about a circle in a groups to make them cooprate, help each
others and share the materials. According to Vygotsky he believe that the Zone of Proximal
Development as the area where the most sensitive instruction or guidance should be given - allowing
the child to develop skills they will then use on their own - developing higher mental functions.
(McLeod, 2007)
If I taught this lesson in the future I would do the same warm up which was using a box. Also, I will use
the same circle song because it is an easy song and I will help the auditory students to memorize the
name of the shape from hearing the song also the visual learners will be able to know the shape and
recognize it after watching the video. This song includes where can we see a circle shape around as and
this link between the lesson and environment. Also, I will use the same craftwork activity. This activity
about creates a circle by using wool string, scraps, papers, and glow. This will help them to develop
cognitive skills and fine motor skills.

I feel disappointed about the envelop activity and I will try to use different activity that help students to
understand the lesson. Also, I disappointed about the differentiation it just include some of learning
style so I will change it to different activities that include learning style and fine and gross motor skills.

Also, I feel sad because I did not achieve one of my aims which are classify the circle between different
shapes because the activity for this aim is boring and some student classifies the circle and some of
them cant do it. But if taught this lesson again I will include different things in this activity to make
students memorize the circle.
I feel happy about the whole lesson but I am sad about some activity. In the future, I will try to include
suitable activity and make the lesson so funny for the students.

I used the easiest way that makes the students understand the lesson. First I told the students the name
of the shape then show them the sign of this and I describe this shape. This lesson develops students
cognitive skills and fine motor skills through the craftwork activity.

Reflection about English lesson: letter F.

On 21 of October, I taught the students English lesson which is about F letter. First, I review letter R for
the students by giveing them envelops that include different letters and I will ask them to show me
letter R. then I sing with them alphabet song and F song. After that, I showed them pictures for things
that start with F letter. Then I let them repeat with me words that start by letter F. Then I gave each
student 15 circle (small circle) and I will ask them to write letter F by use these letter. Then I gave each
level activity to do it.
For this lesson, I ask my classmate to explain for me the way to teach in their TPs school. So I try to
explain the English lesson in a right way. I make different activities that help students to understand the
lesson very well.
I achieve some of my aims. I dont achieve one aim which is Classify letter F between different letters
because it is very difficult for the students to classify it. Also, some students make an error when they
choose E instead of F.
In future, I will use write F by small circle activity because it develops students fine motor (when they
touch the papers (small circle) and organize it) and cognitive skills (when the students try to write letter
F by a small circle). Also, I will use songs about letter F because I think songs help students to acquire
the language.

Reflection about Math lesson: Number 6.

On 28 of October, I taught students math lesson which is number 6. In this lesson, I sing Numbers song
then I review for the students the previous numbers by fruit activity (Count how many fruit we have).
After that, I told them a story about number 6 (Salma in the Zoo). Then I gave activity to link between
things and number (each student had clay and make six balls by it. Then they had envelop that include
numbers cards. Then I asked them to make 6 balls and classify number 6 between different numbers).
After that, I gave each level activity to do it (High level: draw 6 apples and color it and write number 6.
Medium level: draw 6 apples and color it. Then follow the sporadic line to write number 6. Low level:
draw 6 apples and color it.
If I taught this lesson again I would use the same warm up because it links between the environment
(Zoo) and the lesson (number 6). Also, I would do the same review and the same numbers song because
they attract the students and make them understand the lesson very well.
I gave the students different activities that have different learning style (visual, physical etc.). Also,
these activities develop students fine motor and cognitive skills. In addition, these activities will develop
students social and emotional skills when they share their ideas and answers. Also, they will feel happy
when they cooperate and when they answer the questions and this will make able to learn.
