Modifications/Adaptations
Remind class to be aware of any students who may be
injured and have limited movement. For example, a
wheelchair, crutch, and visually impaired hearing aid. Use
hand signals and/or a short whistle to stop and proceed on
the next command.
Adaptations such as shortening the distances to the holes
from the starting position to make it easier.
Change size of any ball for a modification or adaptation
depending on the students capability.

Lesson Focus:
Spatial awareness- performs a putt and strike. Students
must be aware of their surroundings at all times. Safety is
very important!!!
Task 1- Teacher demonstrates each obstacle,
demonstrates Wii golf carefully explaining safety explains
and shows how to use the iPad app for keeping score at
each station (obstacle).
Task Extension- This is repeated for each obstacle/station.
Culminating Activity- 6-hole mini-golf obstacles, Wii golf
station, iPad (My Mini-Golf Scorecard App)

Assessment Technique: Observe and note on class roster

with a D for those students who are having difficulty
performing the skills/tasks. There is an attached checklist
of the locomotor skills and spatial awareness skills for the
teacher to assess: with 4 categories: never, rarely, mostly,
always.

Task Presentation/Teaching

Class Organization

Introduce equipment including the technology use: Wii golf, and

using the iPad. Briefly give some history of golf/mini golf.
Explain rules and proper teamwork/listening skills that must be
enforced and followed in the lesson. Warm up: will be done in

Students stand across from

a partner on each white
line.

Transition

students assigned spots on the floor with proper stretching.

Next, I assign partners to each student. Each partner faces
parallel to each other on the line to putt back and fourth.
Students wait for the whistle for further instruction.

Instructional
Phase

Teacher either demonstrates or asks a student to demonstrate

the appropriate obstacle in each of the 6-hole tournament.

Wait in general space

(personal listening)
Students move to each
obstacle to general space.

Task #1

Move to each obstacle.

Transition

Students stop on command before rotating to next obstacle.

Task #2
Extension

Repeat at each obstacle.

Transition

Students stop on command for further instruction.

Culminating
Activity

The teacher sets up 6 different obstacles and the students

know how to correctly perform them. Students listen to
instruction and demonstration for them to properly complete
Wii golf after the 6th obstacle while having fun. Students can
use the iPad correctly with the My Mini Golf Scorecard App to
calculate scores and to see where they stand against their
peers.

Students view their own personal scores compared to their

peers according to the iPad for results. Students are able to
correctly identify and perform a proficient swing, including
proper stance, form, and grip based on assessment. Students
listened carefully to all directions and instructions to be able to
correctly complete each obstacle, record data on the iPad, and
use equipment for the Wii with care and safety.

Students are able to see

how they did compared to
the rest of the class from
the My Mini Golf Scorecard
App used on the iPad.

Reflection: (What went well? What did not go well? What I will change next time
Students had a ton of fun, and learned new/proper mini golf cues and skills. Students enjoyed the mini golf tournament
and want to continue this outside of the classroom. Students really enjoyed using the Wii and want to continue using it
at home. Make sure to change hole #3 because the obstacle was not working properly. Use the ropes instead; place
them straight to hole so that this obstacle can be proficient.
